Gobos are always a stand-out wow-factor at wedding receptions. Not familiar with the term “gobo”? Gobos are lighting systems that allow us to project your custom monogram, wedding date, or other personalized graphic. It’s an easy way to transform a venue into a more personal space, and it makes a major impact as your guests enter the venue. Gobos can be projected on walls or dance floors for a unique, custom feel. We recommend them as a simple way to set the tone for a personalized event.
Since there are unlimited gobo options, you should keep a few tips in mind as plan for your custom lighting installment. First, simple reads better. It can be tempting to go over the top with your wedding monogram, but we’ve found that simpler shapes stand out crisply and are more readable for guests. If you love a highly embellished look, consider using just one letter instead of three—your new last name initial can take center stage without feeling overwhelming.
Second, choose lighting colors that complement your overall creative vision. We can assist you with this if you’re not sure which hue to pick.
Lastly, be sure your gobo will get noticed by choosing a flat surface with plenty of display space. Our downtown Dallas wedding venue is well-accustomed to displaying gobos, so that won’t be a problem around here!
