We’ve Been Featured! Luminous Illusion on Aisle Society

November 30, 2016

Wow, what an honor! Remember these dreamy blue hues from our blog? This shoot was picked up by one of our favorite bloggers, Hey Wedding Lady… and then featured on Aisle Society! As an exquisitely curated collection of wedding industry trends, Aisle Society is a go-to resource for engaged couples. Their streamlined collection makes it easy to browse wedding inspirations for hours on end.

We’re thrilled that this ethereal styled shoot made the cut. With intricate embroidery details, modern acrylic tableware and signage, and lush florals, this vendor team crafted a truly bespoke vignette. Thanks to Taylor Lord Photography for the beautiful images.

How to Include Family at Your Dallas Wedding Ceremony Venue

November 23, 2016

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Empire Room couples! Tomorrow brings all kinds of thankfulness as we gather around the table with friends and family. What a perfect reminder of how grateful we are! Thanks to our wonderful couples, the Empire Room is a top Dallas wedding ceremony venue. We couldn’t do what we do without incredible brides, grooms, and vendors helping us host memorable occasions. Thank you!

As we gather close to our loved ones this holiday season, we’re reminded of the special role family members play in our couples’ weddings. If you’re hoping to include family members in your ceremony, we’ve got you covered. Take a look at a few of our favorite ways to involve family members on your big day:

  • Wedding Party: of course, any family member would be honored to join your wedding party! We love when couples include their siblings and/or cousins in their selections for bridesmaids and groomsmen. You might even consider asking a brother or sister be a best man or maid of honor! It will be a treasured experience you’ll both remember for years to come.
  • House Party: maybe you don’t want to add any more members to your wedding party, but want to include a few more loved ones. Ask them to join your house party! This southern tradition is an extension of the wedding party, with fewer duties. House party members often assist with programs, seating, or guest book signing.
  • Procession: offer your family members a place of honor in your procession down the aisle. Grandparents love this one! Invite Grandma and Grandpa to be escorted down the aisle as part of your bridal procession. Don’t forget to include a posey bouquet or corsage for her, and a boutonniere for him.
  • Ushers: this is a great role for young men like cousins or uncles. Ask your ushers to escort guests to their seats as they arrive at your Dallas wedding ceremony venue.
  • Readers: if you’re having any scripture verses, poetry, or spoken word read at your ceremony, use it as an opportunity to involve a friend or family member. Be sure to give them the reading material beforehand so they can practice, and don’t forget to invite them to the rehearsal (and rehearsal dinner!) to ensure smooth sailing on the big day.
  • Ring Bearer and Flower Girl: have little cousins, nieces, or nephews join the ceremony as ring bearers or flower girls. Feel free to break tradition; nieces are just as cute carrying rings as they are tossing flowers. Some couples even include a small group of children walking down the aisle together as a gesture of inclusion.
  • Toasts: lastly, don’t forget to toast the people who matter most! Whether you raise a glass at the rehearsal dinner or at the wedding reception, be sure to thank influential family members for their love and support.

How are you planning to incorporate family into your wedding day? We can’t wait to host everyone at our Dallas wedding ceremony venue, The Empire Room. We hope you’ll stop by for a tour so we can talk about your vision. In the meantime, soak up the holiday season and enjoy a delicious meal with your loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving!

A Bridal Guide to Black Friday Shopping

November 21, 2016

As Thanksgiving draws near, we’re excited for friends and family gathered around our sumptuously stocked table. This time of year always brings delicious food, great company, and plenty of laughter. But after the leftovers have been packed away, you might want to do a little shopping—especially if you’re a bride!

Black Friday is notorious for chaotic crowds and wee morning hours, but it can be a rewarding shopping extravaganza for an engaged couple. Even better? Start the online search now. Save items to your cart, then check out on Black Friday or Cyber Monday for hassle-free shopping. Cross off several of your big-ticket wedding purchases on Black Friday to make a bit more room in your budget.

Here are our tips!

  • BHLDN: Everyone’s favorite wedding boutique is offering amazing steals this week. Snap up a gorgeous gown for your ceremony or reception… or use Black Friday as an excuse to have both! In addition to bridal gowns, you’ll find lovely dresses for your maid of honor, mother of the bride, and/or bridesmaids. Don’t forget to peruse the stunning statement accessories as well.
  • Paper Goods: Still waiting to get those Save-the-Dates ordered? Take advantage of Vistaprint or Minted Black Friday deals to get your paper goods printed.
  • Gifts: If you’re planning on purchasing bridesmaids’ or groomsmen’s gifts, why not make your purchases this week? Shop your favorite boutiques for gorgeous bridesmaid earrings, or order matching robe sets.
  • For him: Think about your groom’s attire… tie, bowtie, cufflinks, socks, dress shoes. With all the deals going on this week, it might be a good time to make those purchases!

We can’t wait to see all the goodies you snap up this week. Our couples always find such unique items to personalize their special day. Your customized touches are what make our space the top modern wedding venue DFW has to offer!

From everyone here at The Empire Room—Happy Thanksgiving week, and good luck with your bridal Black Friday shopping!

How to Choose an Engagement Ring that Reflects Your Personal Style

November 7, 2016

Dallas Modern Wedding Venue | Engagement Ring Styles

The vote is in …on our favorite engagement ring styles! With the holidays right around the corner, engagement season is upon us. Statistically, this time of year (from Thanksgiving to Valentine’s Day) is the most popular time to propose. If you anticipate saying “Yes!” within the next few months, it might be time to start thinking about your engagement ring.

Many modern couples shop for rings together, but there’s certainly nothing wrong with leaving the ring selection up to him; the choice is completely personal. If you are shopping together, get familiar with the “Four Cs” of diamonds: cut, carat, color, and clarity. These are the four characteristics by which a stone is judged to determine the ultimate look of the ring. Combined, these qualities can create a classic, modern, or unique look for your engagement ring—it’s all about personal taste!

Today we’re helping you scope out some bling according to your personal style. Take a look:

Classic: if you’re a traditional bride seeking a classic look, keep things simple with a round center stone and understated band. Personalize it with a halo for a bit more bling, but don’t go overboard—simplicity is timeless. Oval rings are the latest trend for brides seeking to update a classic look with a subtle twist, and we are loving them!

Modern: if you learn toward a contemporary aesthetic, look for clean lines and square cuts to express your style. Complement your stone with a sleek platinum band, keeping the overall look minimalistic. For a distinctive look, try a ring with a horizontal rectangular stone or accent your center stone with dainty emerald gems set on either side. Swoon!

Vintage-inspired: countless ring styles have inspired us throughout the decades! If you’re drawn to vintage style, look for an engagement ring with an intricate band and unique setting. Take a more distinctive route with a sapphire center stone, the perfect touch from a bygone era.

Earthy chic: if you’re a free-spirited bride seeking an earthy aesthetic, look for nontraditional elements like rose gold or a custom-fit ring guard or wrap. You might also consider a conflict-free engagement ring that you can customize yourself.

Completely custom: on that note, if none of the above styles appeal to you… that’s totally okay! Your engagement ring should reflect your personality. You can always customize your ring to express your own aesthetic.

Which of these styles speaks to you? We’ve seen so many stunning gems at our Dallas modern wedding venue! From modern to vintage and everything in between, there’s one common thread we love above all else: your ring is a symbol of your unique love story. As fun as it is to dream about gorgeous cuts and settings, all that matters at the end of the day is that you’re engaged to the love of your life. And that is worth far more than any diamond!

Best of luck to all the couples hoping to get engaged this season! We hope you’ll consider celebrating your love story here at our Dallas modern wedding venue, The Empire Room.
