July 23, 2018

Downtown Dallas Wedding Venue | Galleries at The Empire Room

DFW Wedding Venue

At our DFW wedding venue we know that spending your money where it counts is important. That’s why we’ve put together this list of details that will make a serious impact while still staying within your budget.

Aisle Markers

Aisle Markers are a simple and inexpensive way to add a personal touch to your ceremony. It can be as simple as bunches of babies breath, bows, or lanterns to light the aisle.

Altar Backdrop

Another high impact detail of your ceremony is your backdrop at the altar. A simple hanging floral or arched structure will draw your guests attention and create a more memorable ceremony.

Greenery Accents

Greenery is a budget friendly way to add floral design and it’s totally on-trend. Simple garlands or runners at your reception will create a lasting impression on your guests.

Hanging Installations

Anything that hangs from the ceiling is an instant attention getter. Hanging installations can be inexpensive if you use the right materials. Hanging candles or greenery can change the whole design of the room. You can do smaller pieces all over the room or one large installation over the area you want to draw the most attention to such as the center or the room or your sweetheart table.

Unique Ideas to Help Choose Your Wedding Colors

July 9, 2018

The couples that choose our Dallas wedding venue come up with some gorgeous wedding colors. But choosing a cohesive color palette is not as easy as it seems at first glance. If you’re feeling stuck, try using the ideas below to inspire ideas for your color palette.

Favorite Colors

Maybe the simplest place to start is by trying to combine you and your fiancé’s favorite colors. If they clash try finding the color in different shades and see if there’s something that marries well. If not, try our next tip.

Pretty Paints

We probably all thought of decorating or doing DIY’s with paint chips at one time thanks to Pinterest. Well it’s time to raid revisit the paint or hardware store again for paint chips. This is an inexpensive way to test multiple colors and shades together.

Activities

Looking for a extra personal touch to your palette? Believe it or not your color palette can be inspired by the activities you both love to do together. If you’re favorite activity is long walks on the beach use the colors of the ocean or the sky at sunset on the water for your color palette. Love the mountains? Try an earth toned palette for your big day.

How to Host the Perfect Patriotic Celebration

July 1, 2018

Downtown Dallas Venue

At our downtown Dallas venue one of our favorite holidays is 4th of July. With it just around the corner we thought we’d share some ways to host a elevated patriotic celebration. Whether you’re planning a big corporate 4th of July party or paying homage to your fiancé time in the force on your wedding day, here are some tips for fine red, white, and blue event.

Layering

To keep your celebration from looking tacky, try layering your colors rather than using patriotic flags in your decor. For example, on a table setting start with a blue table cloth as the base and add a white table runner and set your plates with red napkins. Or use a white table cloth with a blue floral centerpiece and white candles. To finish it off, add touches of gold for a more sophisticated look.

Use nature

Use nature to break up all the color. Red and blue are stimulating colors, give your eyes a place to rest with some greenery mixed in. If could be as simple as eucalyptus table runner or mint in your cocktails.  Also adding wood or wicker will soften the overall design.

Go beyond the burgers

While burgers are the typical go to for a patriotic celebration if you want a more sophisticated but still relaxed menu consider mini caprese salads and Champagne served with ice-cold popsicles.
