Modern Wedding Inspiration – Industrial Style Wedding Venue

May 31, 2019

Industrial Style Wedding Venue

Industrial Style Wedding Venue

The Empire Room is a beautiful industrial style wedding venue that is so easily transformed to be anything you want it to be! We pride ourselves in being a versatile, blank canvas, but modern, industrial style weddings are so much fun to have here. The theme fits perfectly in our white, brick walls and large, open space. Here are a couple of ways to incorporate this theme into your wedding.

  • Nix the floral archway for something a little more industrial, like an Edison bulb archway! You can either have the bulbs all lit up, some lit up, or none at all. These make beautiful statement pieces to any wedding ceremony, and are such a unique option.
  • Using metal, even mixing metals, for any small touches is the perfect way to give your wedding an industrial feel. Have metal chairs at your dinner tables for the first touch of metal and go from there. Use metal numbers for your table numbers, and any other small metal touches in your table display.
  • Add metal piping to the top of wooden tables for a rustic industrial look. You can hang plants from the piping, or hang small shelves in order to make a stacked table look. Not only will this make your table displays unique, but it will give you more table space for food and drinks, as well!
  • Use all of the geometric shapes! Add air plants or dried flowers into geometric terrariums. Have florals spilling out of unique, cement vases and pots. When it comes to industrial design, geometric shapes are your friends!
  • Lastly, add metallic touches into your bridesmaid’s and groomsmen’s attire. Have the girls wear dresses with metallic beaded accents, and have the groomsmen wear ties with hard silver accents. This will tie the theme together from the decorations to the people.

Where to Take Your Engagement Photos in Dallas

May 29, 2019

Downtown Dallas Venue

Downtown Dallas Venue

Now that you have found your downtown Dallas venue, its time for engagement pictures! Engagement pictures are something special that you will look back on forever. You’ll be reminded of the giddy happiness that you had looking down at your ring for the entire first month, and how much you loved planning your wedding with your fiancé. When you’re thinking about locations for your engagement shoot, you’ll want to consider exactly the vibe that you are wanting.

  • For a manicured nature look, go to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. There is a fee to get in, but you will get beautiful pictures in a lush garden filled with trees and flowers. An added bonus to this is if you go here on a date later on, you’ll always be reminded of the engagement session you had here.
  • Another outdoor location is White Rock Lake. Much less manicured than the Arboretum, White rock Lake boasts amazing views of the lake and greenery. Get on the trail and walk around to all of the amazing photo spots. On top of greenery, there are plenty of piers to take pictures on, too.
  • Our last suggestion for an outdoor shoot is the Cedar Hill Nature Preserve. It is a little out of the way, but so worth it! You’ll be surrounded in forest, hills, and green. You can even bring clothes to hike in once you’re done with your pictures.
  • If you are wanting more of a city feel, go to Deep Ellum! There are murals everywhere and beautiful views of Dallas from Main Street. You will get incredibly unique pictures here.
  • Another great city location is the Bishop Arts District! Located in the heart of Oak Cliff, this is a quaint area with lots of color, murals, brick, and older buildings.
  • Our last city location is Downtown Dallas, of course! Go to the Thanksgiving Square area, Klyde Warren, and everywhere in between for more industrial, but beautiful engagement pictures.

Summer Wedding Trends – Best Dallas Venue

May 27, 2019

Best Dallas Venue

Best Dallas Venue

Summer gives you opportunity to do and add unique things to your wedding that you just can’t do any other season. Even if the weather is great in Spring and Autumn, the weather is still so temperamental that you just never know what might happen! Summer gives you perfect days and clear skies to plan fun, unique outdoor ideas for your wedding reception. As the best Dallas venue, we want to give you some of our favorite summer wedding trends.

Invest in some lawn games for your guests! Giant Jenga and cornhole will be a big hit with anyone. This will also be great for any children at your wedding! It will keep them occupied while their parents can dance the night away with you.

Bring in either a food truck or even a mobile bar to treat your guests to. Food trucks can be fun because you can get your favorite obscure taco truck to bring snacks to guests! A mobile bar is also a fun addition. This is a newer trend, but we have been seeing it a lot recently. It changes up a typical bar setting to be a little more unique.

Speaking of unique, have a unique cocktail at your cocktail hour! Make something like a wine smoothie—wine blended with frozen fruit (YUM)—or a frosé. Since its hot outside, your guests will love something frozen to cool down with. These are also more unique options than you would typically see at a cocktail hour.

Lastly, give your guests places to hang out other than their tables. Invest in, or rent, some comfy couches, chaises, and chairs. This will give guests—and you—a place to relax and take a comfortable breather in between dances. You can make this space even cozier by adding poles with string lights above or adding a canopy above one of the lounge areas to make it feel more private.

Trending Wedding Color Palettes in 2019

May 24, 2019

Dallas Wedding Venue

Dallas Wedding Venue

Are you still trying to decide the exact colors for your Dallas wedding venue? Maybe you’re already looking at color combos for your summer wedding for next year? We have the scoop on the popular summer wedding colors for your Dallas wedding.

A big trend recently has been taking color inspiration from nature. You already know that the colors look beautiful together , so of course it will just add to your wedding. For summer nature colors, go for mountain greens coupled with off whites and light, sky blues. It will feel as if you are living in a mountain dream. You can also go towards the opposite and do more beach colors. For this, we suggest either a surf color scheme or a coast based color scheme. For the surf colors, think multiple shades of blues and greens – as light or as dark as you want to go. For the coast colors, go more towards a sunset at a beach; use peaches, sand-white, and light blues to create this look.

Another trend is using colors that you would expect to be together with a pop of something different. An example of this would be multiple shades of green—moss, sage, and evergreen—coupled with a bright grapefruit red. You could also go in the direction of light pinks and bright yellows with a pop of forest green. Adding unexpected pops keeps the color scheme interesting.

Lastly, why not go all out? Summer is the only season that you can use multiple bright colors and it makes sense, so go ahead and make your colors all bright! Think Coco, with the bright oranges, saturated purples, and bright reds. Using florals to create this color combination will be fully eye catching to anyone. It is a bold choice, but can be incredibly beautiful.
