Minimalist Wedding Inspiration | Versatile Wedding Venue

October 16, 2019

Versatile Wedding Venue

Versatile Wedding Venue

Minimalist weddings are very in right now, and where better to have a minimalist styled wedding than at our versatile wedding venue? We have some ideas for your minimal wedding from the invites to the cake cutting.

  • For anything printed – save the dates, invitations, programs – use transparent paper. This has become more popular over time, but is still unique. This will start the style of minimalism from the first time that your guests see anything about your wedding.
  • For furniture on your big day, use unstained wooden furniture, simple metal furniture, or lucite furniture. All three of these separately, and together create a stunning look of elegance without being much. Using lucite chairs with wooden tables, for example, adds the perfect amount of differentiation without straying from minimalism.
  • At your ceremony, use a simple backdrop of vines hanging behind you. Nothing too fancy, but just enough for your guests to say “wow” when they see you and your significant other against it. Continuing with fauna, using simple accents of greenery on tables or the backs of chairs during the wedding or reception is an added touch that will still be within the theme of minimal.
  • For your cake, do a simple white buttercream cake with texture in the icing. No need for a cake-topper for a minimalist wedding, unless it is something like a wooden cut-out of your names. You could also add a small amount of greenery to the bottom or top tier of your wedding cake to finish the cake and tie in the rest of the greenery.

Are you interested in having a minimalist wedding at our versatile, blank canvas venue? We would love to talk over details and dates with you. Contact us today to start the conversation going about your minimalist wedding.

Fall Wedding Dress Styles – Downtown Dallas Wedding

October 7, 2019

Downtown Dallas Wedding

Downtown Dallas Wedding

It’s officially a new season which means a new season of fashion. This fall, there was some really unique wedding dress trends going on that we are so excited to share with you! We want you to look and feel your very best at our downtown Dallas wedding venue. Here are some trends that we have picked up on.

Going into fall means looser, more boho dresses. Think statements sleeves like bell sleeves or cap sleeves and lots of drapy lace. This look has been popular for the past few autumns and we don’t see it going away anytime soon.

Another trend to look out for is intricate beading. Whether it is Gatsby Style beading throughout the whole dress, or intricate details, beading is fully back and ready to be the center of attention. We have even been seeing intricate beading on veils which adds a fun extra look to any wedding style.

The clean and modern dress look is back, and ready to be worn. There are so many options for this look. Ours is a clean a-line or sweetheart dress. They are both beautiful styles that really put the attention on the bride herself, rathe than the dress. With sleek dresses like this, you can easily add on any accessories because it will not be clashing with the dress.

Lastly, tiered ballgowns are all the rage right now. Ball gowns are already saying “look at me!,” but tiered ball gowns just add that extra look that is so unique and beautiful. These dresses will make any bride look like the queen of the day, as she is.

We love seeing what wedding dresses you wear at our venue, and we are excited to see all of your fall looks over the next few months. Contact us to learn more about our venue!

2019 Veil Trends

June 26, 2019

Downtown Dallas Wedding Venue

Downtown Dallas Wedding Venue

Are you having a hard time finding the perfect veil to wear at your downtown Dallas wedding venue? Veils are constantly going in and out of style, year by year, but right now, thanks to many celebrity weddings with veils, they are very in. We wanted to highlight a couple of the veil trends that we have been seeing recently for your wedding inspiration.

  • Embroidered veils are all the rage right now. Whether the embroidery is on the edges, or throughout, it is a unique way to add in your color scheme. With so many places local artists who embroider, it is easy to get a custom floral stitch on your veil.
  • Along with embroidered veils, lace veils are also in. You can find beautiful, dreamy, lace veils at any bridal store, and you will have so many options of them to go with your style and your dress. Lace will never go out of style in weddings, and right now, that is the case with lace veils, as well.
  • Floor length veils are also very popular right now, thanks to Priyanka’s beautifully long veil, everyone is going for floor length and veils with trains. This is a stunning way to make your entrance at your wedding. Do you not want to deal with a floor length veil for your reception? When it is time to party, opt for a shorter veil in place, or no veil altogether.
  • Of course, the option of no veil always exists, as well. A veil is not for everyone, and that is perfectly fine. If a veil isn’t for you, then a veil isn’t for you! Doing your hair in an intricate way or adding a flower crown can shift the vibe of your wedding day look to something unique, and more you than a veil might do.

What Season Should You Have Your Wedding In?

June 21, 2019

Downtown Dallas Wedding

Downtown Dallas Wedding

There are pros and cons of getting married in each season. As your favorite downtown Dallas wedding, we have compiled a list of reasons why we love each season! They all have something different to offer, whether it is the color palette of the season or the vibe that the season gives to weddings. There are so many reason for each season, we just wanted to highlight a few of our reasons for choosing each of the seasons.

Spring:

Weddings in the spring can be indoor or outdoor, and your color palette can be beautiful pastels. A wedding in the spring involves all of the pastels that dreams are made of. What you have to look out for with spring weddings is the inconsistency of weather.

Summer:

Summer offers bright colors, hot weather, and summer fun. For summer weddings, you can easily have your wedding outdoors at any point of the day and you know that it will be beautiful. You can have summer drinks, outdoor games, and fun wedding favors, like fans, to give to guests.

Fall:

Fall is a beautiful time for weddings. It is a mix between a summer and winter wedding: chilly enough to be cozy, but still nice enough to easily be outside. Grab some blankets and consider serving apple cider to your guests during your wedding and reception. This season has muted and the beginnings of dark colors.

Winter:

If you have ever wanted a cozy wedding, winter is the perfect time for you to have your wedding. You can have a dark color palette to directly coincide with the winter weather outside. You can also have a cozy affair with blankets either inside or outside. The nice thing about Texas weather in the winter is that it will never get too cold to make this option be unrealistic.

Trending Wedding Color Palettes in 2019

May 24, 2019

Dallas Wedding Venue

Dallas Wedding Venue

Are you still trying to decide the exact colors for your Dallas wedding venue? Maybe you’re already looking at color combos for your summer wedding for next year? We have the scoop on the popular summer wedding colors for your Dallas wedding.

A big trend recently has been taking color inspiration from nature. You already know that the colors look beautiful together , so of course it will just add to your wedding. For summer nature colors, go for mountain greens coupled with off whites and light, sky blues. It will feel as if you are living in a mountain dream. You can also go towards the opposite and do more beach colors. For this, we suggest either a surf color scheme or a coast based color scheme. For the surf colors, think multiple shades of blues and greens – as light or as dark as you want to go. For the coast colors, go more towards a sunset at a beach; use peaches, sand-white, and light blues to create this look.

Another trend is using colors that you would expect to be together with a pop of something different. An example of this would be multiple shades of green—moss, sage, and evergreen—coupled with a bright grapefruit red. You could also go in the direction of light pinks and bright yellows with a pop of forest green. Adding unexpected pops keeps the color scheme interesting.

Lastly, why not go all out? Summer is the only season that you can use multiple bright colors and it makes sense, so go ahead and make your colors all bright! Think Coco, with the bright oranges, saturated purples, and bright reds. Using florals to create this color combination will be fully eye catching to anyone. It is a bold choice, but can be incredibly beautiful.

  • Floral Archway: a popular choice, floral archways always make an elegant statement. Adorned with flowers of your choosing, they are easily customized and guaranteed to create romantic setting.
  • Floral Installation: take the archway idea a step further with a unique floral installation. Perhaps you design a fully-covered flower wall, or use organic greenery for a lush backdrop.
  • Hanging Ribbons: Easy and elegant, a hanging ribbon installation allows for plenty of customization. Choose ribbons in your color scheme and create a personalized background that is sure to look amazing in photos.
  • Lighting: let a sparking chandelier take center stage, or use pillar candles lining the aisle for a softer ambiance. You can even pair florals with twinkling string lights for a magical feel!

You can’t go wrong with any of these backdrop choices (or even combining a couple of them!). And each one allows you to tailor the “altar” to suit your aesthetic and color palette. Are Holiday Weddings Taboo or Trending?

January 14, 2019

Our event space makes a great DFW holiday wedding venue because it’s a blank canvas. There are a lot of reasons that couples choose a holiday to plan their wedding, but before you get on the bandwagon check out our list of pros and cons to see if this trend is right for you.

Attendance

This one is both a pro and con depending on your crowd. Having your wedding over a holiday lets you maximize time with your loved ones, allowing for you to spend a whole week celebrating. But while more of your friends and family are probably able to take off work to travel to your wedding don’t be surprised if some guests may decline your invitation preferring to spend their holidays with their families.

Holiday Demand

But beyond attendance, holidays increase hotel and airfare rates. In addition, your preferred venue and vendors might not offer discounts or be available at all due to high demand.

Endless theme ideas

People feel naturally festive around the holidays, tap in to that with your decor. There’s nothing more special that adding to the season with your own fun memories. There’s so much fun to be had with decorating for a themed holiday wedding. Using pink accents for a Valentines Day themed wedding or an epic fireworks show for your 4th of July wedding.

Is this Weekday Wedding Trend Right for You?

January 7, 2019

Choosing a wedding date is usually the first item on your newly engaged to do list, but what if you’re Dallas wedding venue isn’t available on the weekend you want? Check out our list below and see if the pros of a weekday wedding outweigh the cons for your big day.

Pro: Greater Availability

Weekday weddings are a natural solution if you have your heart set on a popular venue, especially if that venue books a year or two in advance. A weekday wedding also gives you much more flexibility and control over how your big day will run as vendors have more availability of what times they can offer service and are not having to schedule around several weddings all on one day.

Pro: Budget-Friendly

Significant discounts and increased choice of wedding services are all playing a big part in boosting the midweek wedding trend. The difference in price could be as much as a grand or two depending on where you’re booking. You can also pass on the savings to your out-of-town guests, many hotels offer discounted rates on weekdays.

Con: Inconvenience to Guests

While there are a lot of benefits for you as a couple, it’s important that you also consider the ones you want to celebrate with. A weekday wedding can make it difficult for some people to take time off or are unable to make it due to weeknight conflicts. Make sure those you want to attend most can make a weekday wedding.

Con: Lower attendance

Expect your affair to be more intimate. As mentioned above, many on your guest list won’t be able to attend due to scheduling conflicts so expect your attendance to be lower than it would for a weekend wedding. This may work in your favor if you prefer a smaller affair, however if you envisioned a hopping party this way work against you. In addition, most guests will have work and school obligations the following morning, so a late night of partying won’t be quite as appealing.

2019 Wedding Reception Trends

December 3, 2018

With 2019 quickly approaching, we are already taking notes for next year’s hottest trends in decor at reception venues in Dallas. Check out these reception details that we think will be a big hit in the new year.

Black accents

Expect to see a shift towards stark contrast with black accents on tablescapes from candles to flat ware.

Traditional Modern

Modern, clean design will never go out of a fashion but with such a strong emphasis on what’s trending many couples are looking to find inspiration in traditional elements again. Balancing traditional and contemporary pieces is what makes a tablescape feel rich in design.

Velvet and Lucite

This year we saw lucite become a chic choice for everything from dinnerware to seating but with all the transparency, tablescapes are in need of more texture from other elements. Velvet is a great way to incorporate subtle texture and we expect to start seeing it used more frequently in the new year.

Monograms

Monogrammed napkins are emerging as the perfect personal touch for your wedding tabletop. It makes the wedding dinner feel like an elegant dinner party. We’ll probably also see an increase in monograms being used as a projection on walls or the dance floor as couples seek that extra personal touch.

Pastels

Pastel colors are also making a strong comeback. Pantone seems to agree as they just released Living Coral as the color of the year for 2019.

Laser cutting

As laser cutting technology becomes more accessible, we are seeing it used to personalized place settings with laser cut name place cards and menus.

Wild Florals

Structured florals can become costly which is why are starting to see couples moving towards looser arrangements and greenery as the focal point for their table displays. We think this lean towards a more wild look will catch on like wild fire next year.
